Back in the late 90s, I used to work with a guy who had a Lotus Carlton. He gave me a lift home once, and I mean literally just the one time. He hit over 100mph on the little road back to my house, so every day after that I politely declined "No, it's fine. I'll walk home..."

Great video, dude lived in the next street from me had a Lotus Carlton and a Volvo 850R, the wife would often drive the Carlton and I recall seeing her smoke an e36 m3 off the lights down on the main road with her kids in the back 😅

The top speed is actually 190 mp/h - 305 km/h...<br> BUT... it only ONLY... works if you shift to 6th gear when you reach the top speed in 5th, a secret that has eluded most people. <br>Given how controversial it was at the time, even with 175 mp/h 282 km/h, they never dared to reveal this.
