Do you remember the 2010s era of YouTube constantly mocking the entirety of Sonic? Do you agree it was the worst era to be a fan? Or do you think there's another era that was worse?

Worst era to be a Sonic fan was DEFINITELY the 1950s. It felt like NOTHING Sonic related was getting released...

Pointlesshub said a quote on his video on The Boys that perfectly encapsulates the whole YouTube 2010s fiasco. “Too much hate towards something can become just as annoying and intolerable as the thing it’s making fun of.”

Let's be real. A large part of why the mainstream turned against the Sonic was because of Arin and IGN.

Sonic was the definition of “OH, BUT WHEN I DO IT, IT’S A PROBLEM!” in the 2010s. Thank God that era’s behind us.

Edit: wow this blew up. Um, I make videos I guess

Edit edit: this comment officially has more likes than I probably do brain cells

So listing off the things that made Sonic hated for so long:
•Cynical 2010's Internet Culture
•IGN being the worst video game reviewers
•AVGN Clones
•Arin Hanson of Game Grumps being dogsh*t at video games
•The Archie Comics and its occasional weirdness
•DeviantArt having some of the most psychotic fandoms in history.

That's the worst combination of things to happen we'll ever see...

The 2010s was also an era in which people relentlessly picked on and bullied anyone not "normal" (ie neurodivergent people, those who drew "cringe" things, children, etc). Really dumb time. Wish people could've minded their own business then (also now as well too).

Ah yes, the “Sonic was never good” era. How… nostalgic.

"If you managed to avoid this era of being a Sonic fan, consider yourself lucky"

Nah, that's when I became a fan. Lmao. Basically started right on the battlefield

I was in high school during this era and I remember having a phase where I would try so hard to hide my love for sonic, even giving away a lot of my sonic merchandise or putting it in storage 😢💔
