  Yuji is my favorite type of protagonist, not a hero, but just some guy doing his best.<br><br>But what has made him one of my favorite is the cost and weight that means to be just a decent dude in JJK.<br><br>There is no grand price or perfect solution, at the end of the day the only reward is the knoweldge you lived a good life.

  yuji is pretty much a victim to the system, he never asked for the life but was destined to be apart of it thanks to the sorcerers of the past forcing him specifically to be at the center of it all.

  I always loved Yujis self awareness and how real he is. He is not smart, and he knows that (says as much when he first meets todo). When he is about to die for the first time he feels the fear of death and says he doesnt want to die, that fucking hit me so hard when I watched it. He is not a pervert but he is still a man, so many protagonist have like weird fetishes or just have the Japanese stereo type of being perverted. Yuji likes Jennifer Lawrence and never hits on or is affected romantically by any female in the show. Despite all that he has his gags and funny moments, he even mentions all the cool anime moves he wishes he had when Gojo teaches him about cursed techniques.

  Funnily enough, yuji does have a history and connection with past evil sorcerers<br><br>It is just that his lore is being just a plan to revive and host the strongest evil sorcerer and be disposable later

  Yuji is the perfect protagonist because it shows us the effects of being thrown into a world thats messed up and would throw you out into the garbage. <br><br>his mental state is not only great character writing, but it also acts as a pilot seat for us to also mourn for those characters that he lost.

  in terms of lore, i think yuji has a shit ton just because of kenjaku and his weird shit. Like he so related to sukuna just through kenjaku&apos;s meddling

  Ive always felt like jjk is a direct inversion of naruto&apos;s tropes. Talk no jutsu gets laughed at, people die and yuji cant save them. Sukuna is actually just evil and cant be reasoned with. All Naruto talks about is being recognized as the hero and becoming hokage. All yuji talks about is him just being another player in a broken system. &nbsp;Even Kenjaku is a subversion of Obito, mentors(white hair and a blindfold interesting) old friend has been pulling the strings from the dark. If you dig deep enough theres always something similar that yuji goes through that naruto goes through but the consequences are more severe. The reason Yuji hits so hard as an MC is cos we get it, he isnt an unstoppable force with layers of plot armour. Hes just a guy who keeps pushing forward regardless of the goal, and when he cant he has people to drag him forward like Todo. Naruto&apos;s growth moves the plot forward, Yuji is forced to grow because otherwise the plot will leave him behind.

But yeah he def isn’t as setup as some other characters.

  One of my favorite things to say about Yuji personally is that he&apos;s Deku written into a world where he can&apos;t save even a single life despite his attempts.<br>He can&apos;t talk, scream, get a power up to get out of it. Yet he tries, and tries and tries despite every failure, every resistance.<br><br>Another one less apt is he&apos;s a Naruto thrown into a world where Talk-no-jutsu just doesn&apos;t work because malice overrides it all.<br><br>Thank you for reading my TED talk 😂<br><br>Edit, because I noticed people seem to misunderstand what I stated.<br>I was not comparing the characters or the stories, I was stating that Yuji is written similar to Deku with his mindest in &quot;every life saved is a win&quot; and that Yuji is basically a Deku set up to fail, he just doesn&apos;t have Dekus insecurity because he was always pretty strong.<br><br>With my Naruto comparison, he often tries to talk it out and be kind initially but it never works because yknow, Sukuna and Mahito&apos;s malice along with the world they inhabit itself is pretty fundamentally against kindness so it just doesn&apos;t work.<br><br>Again, not trying to say Yuji, Deku or Naruto are better written or another. I was making a comparison with how they&apos;re characterized if anything.

  I think anime fans forget what main character means <br><br>Main character isn&apos;t the strongest character in the room. Or the one that drives the plot. Main character is the character we follow simple. That&apos;s the only requirement to be an MC
