  Little fun detail that the writers threw in. Typically when you have an injury like John’s slit wrist, you sever tendons and ligaments that are used to lift and move your fingers. They show John having trouble lighting his cigarette so Lucifer helps him. so when John is flipping lucifer off it’s implied that god is using his divine power to flip him off through John’s body 😂😂

  Explanation for why Lucifer stepped in is really simple, his greatest sin is his pride. If he has to cheat to win it would mean that Lucifer was wrong about humanity's inevitable fall and would be forced to admit that to God

  Honestly I think that his version of the devil is damn near perfect. He comes off as evil but also somehow...charming in a way, charismatic, like the kind of guy you can find yourself talking to for hours over drinks. "You might not agree with everything he says but he's interesting to talk to!" that kind of guy. And that's how he gets you, he makes everything sound okay, nothings the matter with doing X or Y, you're fiiiiine, then BAM he's got you. And I absolutely love that. Plus him being played by Stormare is just the cherry on top, love that guy.

  Stormare&apos;s Prince of Darkness in Constantine had a dirty, corrupt aura that really hasn&apos;t been matched imo.<br>You feel he will do, and has done, foul, &nbsp;horrific things.

  It&apos;s all the better that Lucifer&apos;s treatment of Constantine reflects his view on humanity as well. He doesn&apos;t want a quick win, he wants humanity to defeat itself and believes it will eventually happen. In the same way he believes Constantine is &quot;bad&quot; despite evidence to the contrary and prolongs his life so that he can doom himself to hell again.

  People forget that Lucifer is also known as the Prince of pride. So someone stealing is prize away from him. Because of meddling is a direct attack to his pride and his persona hates losing

  One important clue that it was God taking Gabriel&apos;s wings, is when she tried to strike Lucifer, she claimed to do it &quot;In His honor&quot;, God didn&apos;t like that.
