  Heavy agree about the Tyla hate. One thing to hate the music but the way people come after her, you’d think that she did something else entirely.

  Tyla doesn’t bother me the way she bothers other people. She’s pretty and some of her songs are cool. I don’t dislike her but I’m also not a fan. But I don’t want her to fail. It’s like people WANT her to fail. It’s kind of crazy tbh.

  I love how you ended with &quot;Education is cool, be a nerd about that sht&quot; That whole segment is really important even now. We have SO MUCH access to information and history, but like you said most people are pulling inspo like their building pinterest boards. But to learn from the greats/history is different and is done for a reason, we build a catalogue of references and just informs us of the context of our art or whatever it is we&apos;re learning.

  The narrative of retirement around Beyoncé is killing me cz, <br>A-she already said that she doesn’t see music as a job<br>B-musicians never “need” to retire. If they feel inspired they start making music, and that’s where she is at<br>C-the woman is 44, why are people acting like she’s on her deathbed or something 😭

  The comment about black people always inviting other races into their culture because they do something that is black adjacent is an issue amongst black people EVERYWHERE! They do it here in South Africa too, the second a white person or asian person dances to amapiano or speaks a native language its people praising them. But we get mad at the Mileys and Post Malones for using black culture to gain popularity and abandoning once they have it when we allow it. We need to give the same energy to our own people.

  I think Beyonce is in a great place in her career. She is in that Michael Jackson “invincible” era where she’s already a legend and the greatest alive but now it’s a matter of sustainability &amp; keeping it fresh. I think her exploring new genres was the smartest thing she could have ever done. She doesn’t even need another hit. We all appreciate her as an ARTIST and will be sitting for whatever she comes out with. Her not talking to us anymore and staying super private is also very smart on her part. I think she studied the greats and their downfalls and it shows. She’s moving different!!!

  Unpopular Opinion: I think artists of today need to learn how to step out of the box and devote to their own sounds instead of following trends that other artists are doing, I always remember the saying “You can’t pull everything off” because it’s facts and this is from a Gen Z listener, Artists like Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Usher, Prince all found their own sounds and essentially created sounds of their generations that so many artists try to replicate today and nothing wrong with being inspired but make sure to add your own original sounds and taste as well as visuals!

  I’m South African black woman and the fact that all the Tyla hate started over her race is wild. She literally has her own culture and heritage. We don’t do the 1 drop rule in Africa and if Tyla says she’s black. She’d be turning her back on her whole heritage. Her accent on its own is a coloured accent not a black South African accent. They should’ve left her alone, they put her in a really awkward position.
