WOW. This was heartbreaking. How good is Tom Hanks!? This man killed it in the 90's and this marks #3 from him of some of the greatest movies ever made. Guys let us know, was this a book originally? Phenomenal writing. I think this is one of those movies where most men will shed a tear too.. It's very powerful.

If you thought the ending of the film was dark, the book's ending is much darker.

Michael Clark Duncan really did a good job he deserved an award, also the actor who played Percy, to play that villain role so well to be hated by everybody.

1:12:24 Essentially, we're all walking our own Green Mile. And it begins from the very moment of our birth.

Something to consider... A typical house mouse lives an average of 2 years. It was mentioned that Tom Hanks' character had a grown son when he knew John Coffey, so he was at the very least around 40 at the time. He said that he was currently 108, subtracting the estimated 40 years (the time of John) and about 68 years had passed.
So it would mean that Mr. Jingles lived 34 times the average lifespan of a mouse. Given that figure, and the average lifespan of a male human of 68 years, Paul could very well live to live for over 2300 years (34 times the average of 68 years). A very long Green Mile. Mind blowing.

 You are forgetting "Philadelphia".
Which is the movie he won his 1st Best Actor Oscar award for.
And then, the 2nd for Forest Gump... the very next year.
Tom Hanks. Legend.

Tom Hanks had 13 great movies in the 1990s. In 1994 Tom Hanks and Gary Sinise were in the movie Forrest Gump, then in 1995 they were both, again, in a movie called Apollo 13. You have to remember that the time period of this movie is set in 1935. Antibiotics were not available to treat UTIs. The most they would do is hospitalization, douches, surgery, and the least would be to give the patient sulfur tablets which would irritate the patient's stomach.
