  Roger Federer played his most brutal attacking tennis on his way to the Shanghai Masters title in 2014 defeating Leonardo Mayer, Roberto Bautista Agut, Julien Benneteau, Novak Djokovic and Gilles Simon.<br><br>Federer saved 5 match points in an epic vs Mayer, bageled Benneteau and put on a masterclass of attacking tennis against Djokovic and then showed heart and skill to figure out Simon in the final.

  Not just brutal attacking but defensive tennis: forehands, backhands, volleys, passing shots, slices, returns, serves, overheads, drop shots...everything firing on all all cylinders...while making it seem effortless 😅

  This tournament was so clutch from Fed. Saving 5 match points vs Mayer, then going on to beating Djokovic in the semis, and then Simon in a match where he could have lost in straight sets. <br><br>So good.

  imagine what federer, nadal and djokovic took away from so many other tennis talents and athletes. its insane how these three dominated this sports for so long and all the rest just fighting for scraps. its beyond brutal and leonardo mayer at the end sums that up quite well with this face.
