Is it just me, or is whenever a fire type starter has some alone time, Meowth shows up and becomes a therapist, it's honestly pretty sweet.

I personally have always seen Paul as a representation of an actual Pokemon player. The fact he's shown releasing Starly due to them being inferior to others is something that happens quite often while playing the games with other Pokemon. Him being harsh on Chimchar by having it take damage can be interpreted as grinding against wild Pokemon in order to level up. And Paul's disappointment with loss can reflect an actual players frustration with losing a battle. Just an idea tho

After all what Paul has done to the poor little fire monkey, He should consider himself lucky that Inferape didn't develop wanting his blood kind of revenge like what Gengar was about to do to his former trainer if Ash didn't step in to stop it. If that would've happened Paul wouldn't be alive to compete in the Sinnoh League.

It's ironic when you think about it, considering Paul is obsessed with power, if he saw the might of mega evolution, and dyna/gigantamax, he'd HAVE to have it. Only, he'd be unable to attain that. Because each phenomenon requires the trainer and Pokémon foster a deep, genuine bond. Something Paul would still need years to get to. While Ash taps into that power much later on in the series, because he is willing to die to gods and lab experiments to protect his Pokemon, whom are family to him.

Infernape is one of Ash’s best Pokémon hands down now a lot of People has been saying that Infernape is overrated which I honestly never understood because there’s a reason why Infernape is so cool but back to Ash’s Infernape he really curious hard with the diamond and Pearl story any two done really strong Opponents and I did wish that he battle Cynthia as a Infernape by Ash’s side it would’ve made the battle even more epic Infernape is great as a the true Monkey King
