  Back in &apos;00, I used to spend hours and hours playing videogames with Diego, a friend from school. Being from Brazil, we loved playing soccer games like winning Eleven or Fifa. <br>I remember vividly picking up the phone one day and hearing Diego say &quot;dude, my mom got this demo disk from her boss. It&apos;s a skateboarding game. You gotta check this out.&quot;<br>When I got to his place and his mom brought me to his room, he didn&apos;t even see me coming in. &quot;Superman&quot; was blasting on the TV and a weird looking white-haired dude (it took a while to understand that was Tony Hawk&apos;s blond hair) was airing over a taxi inside what looked like a warehouse. I was like &quot;What&apos;s that?&quot; and he was like &quot;man, try it&quot;.<br>Playing THPS for the first time was the greatest gaming experience I&apos;ve ever had - with playing Guitar Hero as a close second.<br>It felt like I was free to go anywhere, try anything, break windows and have fun. This game truly gave us kids from suburbia the kind of freedom and restlessness we never thought would be tangible. This game actually prompted us to buy a skateboard and a pair of rollerblades and we started trying tricks around our neighborhood. We kinda sucked, but this game helped me create beautiful childhood memories.

  Just after I wore THPS for PS1 out, that summer I picked up a PlayStation magazine with a demo disc of THPS2. Had massively better graphics of Marseilles France level and the build your own level. When I wasn&apos;t skateboarding, we played that one level demo disc all summer!!!<br>I&apos;m not sure if there was any other demos on that disc. The only thing that blew my 12 year old mind that summer was getting to see the first Tony Hawk gigantic skate park tour!!! In that summer I got to meet many of these pro skaters in the flesh! That first year before the explosion of popularity was stellar! Most kids mobbed Tony Hawk after the skate demo. Leaving professionals like Bucky, Caballero, Mike V, Koston, McKay, open to autographs and a quick chat. Definitely a stellar experience that time of skateboarding was! I landed my first front side flip after asking Kerry Getz in person! Yeah the Internet was around, barely. Had a worn copy of Jeremy Wrays trick tips. Besides that Skaters learned from skaters back then and magazines were in print. Covered in plastic with an envelope containing a disc of magic. <br>With skateboarding videos being few and far between, I spent more time watching the unlocked videos, than playing the game! And so did my buddies back then! Decades later and technology advancement aside.... The leap in graphics in THPS2 still blows my mind! <br>Helping skateboarding become an Artistic Sport instead of a Crime!<br> Great video bro! I&apos;m not sure if you are aware of that magazine demo disc of THPS2... Thanks

  Loved these games so much as a kid. I didn’t play them until Underground but immediately went and got all of them and just played them over and over. I was also a “Bam Margera” kid. Heartagrams everywhere, still love HIM, Clutch, CKY, Turbonegro, etc. Can’t wait for you to cover the Underground games and Wasteland! Take me back to those times 😭

  I also was a PS1 THPS3 kid, and I also didn&apos;t know reverts were a thing in that game. I don&apos;t know if they ever teach it to you that it&apos;s a mechanic, and I remember struggling way harder than I thought I needed to as a kid to get some of those scores. I went back to it after playing THPS4 Xbox and I was shocked when muscle memory from THPS4 made me revert in THPS3. Was crazy times.

  You guys did a killer job with this!! As someone who holds a top 500 score on burnside and a few other top 1,000 spots, it truly warms my heart to see more people making videos about it, <br><br>I hope this brings more attention to these games, they truly deserve the love, I still play underground 2 on my ps2 slim to this day!

  Thank you for this series and this compilation. <br><br>Just like you I turned 34 a couple weeks ago and these games ARE my childhood. I spent countless hours playing these games and watching Jackass and Viva La Bam with my best friend Troy and we ran it all back when 1&amp;2 came out a couple years ago. <br><br>Troy passed away last year and it&apos;s been one of the hardest things I&apos;ve ever dealt with. Watching this video put me back into his bedroom playing THPS2 with the stereo playing and him kicking my ass in Skate. Thank you for helping me remember my friend today.

  The third one is still the best. Best soundtrack.The cheat codes were awesome. Me and my friend used to turn the cheats on and come back hr or two later and have Max points from grinding on the rails

  I didn’t skateboard or nobody I knew skateboarded but we definitely played Tony hawks pro skater…. 1 and 2 are goated

  Hello there this is some good documentary of a good game series i was watching some good old wwf matches i was rewatching The Rock vs Big Show 2000 before going to wrestlemania 16 to fight and after that i see a notification of you talking about the Tony hawk games awesome job on covering the series

  I knew who these guys were in the mid nineties thanks to MTV skate videos that in the UK were always on late at night, and me and my brother would stay up to watch them and record them on VHS tapes. Different times!<br>In the 80s we also had 720 on the ZX Spectrum on cassette tape. I didnt know it was the first skating game til this video though so that&apos;s cool.<br>After loading the game, you turned the cassette over and it had the soundtrack on the other side. <br>Man i feel old 😂
