You cannot underestimate how shocking this song was when it first hit on Friday the 13th 1970. Me and 5 friends listened to this the first time a week later. It had an immediate impact, his sister screamed to turn it up and we blasted the rest of the album. It was life altering for all of us. We had never heard anything like the title track, it was so frightening and emotional, blowing us away! That album changed music history. Yes my dear, sick and amazing is right and has been since 1970. Black Sabbath were the first and still the best Heavy Metal Band, ever! Ozzy Osbourne and his legendary band mates will never be forgotten! Please do the rest of the album in order, it is as good as what you just heard and essential for any fan of great Rock. Enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶

The idea of the band name “Black Sabbath” and ultimately the song by the same name came when their band was called “Earth” and they were waiting in line to attend a concert. Ironically and directly across the street was a theater showing a movie called “Black Sabbath” (1963) and the line for the movie was much much longer than the concert line. The story goes that Ozzie said: “Look at all those people waiting in line to be scared. It scares the hell out of them and they love it. We should make music that scares people” They subsequently changed their name and the rest is history.
