  Even the voice acting in the remake isn't so hot nowadays yet the original is super memorable when they speak.

  I think the axe Ganado showing up to kill Leon and Luis actually was put there as a makeshift prison guard to keep watch on Leon and Luis<br><br>All the commotion they caused from trying to dislodge the pulley from the ceiling alerted the guard so he came in to check on the prisoners

  One detail i loved is how Luis tells you about the plaga in the original it didn&apos;t make sense for Saddler to tell you his entire plan and i love how in the remake they specify in the files that they gave Ashley a superior plaga type so she would maintain her intelligence and makes the plan make much more sense . Gameplay wise i feel hardcore is the best way to play the game professional on the other hand is riddled with bs such as lack of staggers and the parry doesn&apos;t work as well &nbsp;and i feel like the game could&apos;ve used a dodge roll like that one mod out there but the game does get much easier when leveling up the sniper and the riot gun to level3 damage and higher &nbsp;i find and i generally agree with you about the grab and the aiming specially the grab which wasn&apos;t broken in RE2R and should&apos;ve stayed the same

  A lot of good points, one minor thing though. Your point on Mendez and Saddler being scarier or better characters with the full-on religious orientation kinda fell flat for me. I just feel it&apos;s way overdone at this point and generic.<br><br>Saddler and Salazar also get way less screentime with &nbsp;there being no hijacking of the radio. Tonally it&apos;s understandable, as those were &nbsp;some of the cheesiest moments, but something could&apos;ve been done to give Saddler especially something other than &quot;muh religion&quot;

  I really appreciate you talking about the knife durability inconsistencies and especially the bloom. <br><br>The bloom really pissed me off. I can deal with it in most encounters, but the shooting range is an absolute nightmare if you’re trying to get all the skull tokens.

  One excellent thing the game does is that sidequests can be done without picking up the request, and even done early. For example, in chapter 12, you get the quest to get the scratched emerald. But you can do that quest as early as chapter 8, after ashley stabs you. This rewards a player for knowledge from past runs heavily, letting you be efficient in getting spinels if you want to engage with it in a run.

  I barely see anyone acknowledge the bloom issue. I can’t comprehend how people prefer the remake over the og despite its other improvements. The laser was just so iconic so for it to be replaced by a mechanic which straight up neuters magnums and smgs…<br><br>Bit of a ramble but the flow of combat in the og is far superior.

  Amidst some of the very unproductive discourse over the remake as of late, I find this review to be a breath of fresh air in that you view the remake fairly both in relation to its predecessor as well as by its own merits. Def subbing for future content.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKuhyQFCtoc&amp;t=2788">46:28</a><br><br>In defense of this scene and the “luck” Leon gets… the gun actually jams because of Ashley’s shaky hands, which I argue just shows how strong Ashley is for being able to fight the mind control in such a way. But I do agree its dumb they didn’t try to kill Leon there.
