My mother bought home a Leading Edge Model D when I was 5 or 6. This was the mid 80s. The luck of being the child of an engineer. It was the first computer I remember using.

Ahhhh, yes... when I started as an apprentice at our local computer store in 1992, we used to get Leading Edge computers in from time to time. I remember looking at them in computer catalogs too, drooling over all the computers in "Computer Shopper" that were out of my league ;)

Two joysticks may have been used for throttle control, with Joystick 2 being the throttle.

we had a Leading Edge Model D in the mid 80s. that was my first PC i learned basic on.
