She broke Bobby Fischer’s record for the youngest grand master. Insane to think.

Judit Polgar is not just an inspiration to girls, but to everyone who loves Chess. I am a man, and Judit Polgar is my favorite Chess player of all time. Her endlessly aggressive style keeps the game fun and prevents it from becoming a drawn-out boring game. Games are supposed to be fun. Who cares about winning if you aren't having fun?

I’ve never seen her in an interview. She seems like a very nice level person. I remember back in 1992 when she was big news. Then she became the 8th best player in the world. Only woman to ever reach 2,700.

She is so calm when she talks. When she speaks, you actually want to listen. Wow.

My favourite story about Judit is what she herself told in a TV-show a long time ago, maybe it was in a Hungarian TV-show so not widely known.
She and her husband were going to the countryside in Hungary by train and they started off at the Eastern Railway Station (Keleti Pu.) in Budapest.
There used to be chess hustlers there who played for some money, 2nd class old chess players I guess.
Judit's husband stopped by one of them and started to play a game for money.
After a couple of moves, he says to the guy: Sorry, I have some business to do but here is my wife, she knows the rules of chess, let her play this game through.
The guy accepts the offer and plays on with Judit. After a couple of moves he frowns and asks Judit whether she is a professional chess player.
After Judit totally crushed him in a couple of moves later, she did not take the money, of course.

Ben Finegold told a great story about one of those "she got lucky stories", he and a few others had watched her beat Emory Tate in a match. Tate came over after and said something along the lines as "well she knows who the better player actually is", and they all kind of laughed "yea, she does".
