Quick question: does Xenoblade Chronicles X have a good story worth covering? I really want to play that game.

Great stuff. Excellent breakdown of how the DNA of Xenogears and Xenosaga still runs through Xenoblade's veins, something lots of fans don't seem to believe is true.

Something interesting to note with the first game is that, the 7 main playable characters all have there character traits spelled out in their skill tree branches. Everyone starts with 3 branches that are all positive traits. To me, this seems like the way the characters view themselves. However, you can unlock 2 more branch for each character after doing certain lines of side quests. The 4th branch that get's unlocked is always a negative trait of each character. I've always seen this as the characters learn to live with their flaws while finding ways to use them in a positive way. The 5th branch is always the best attribute of each character, but is something they themselves just can't see until someone else points it out to them. You could say, the the 5th branch is how others see each character, and thus is a sort of "character witness" for each of our heroes. What's even more impressive is that both of these hidden traits can be seen in many characters during cutscenes, which can make you pick up on details you might not have noticed the first time through. Oh, and that's not even getting into the random bits characters say when chiming in on a side quest with character exclusive dialog (when the right party member is on the team), or the Heart to Hearts that help to farther flesh out each character. Sorry for that last, run on sentence, I'm just a huge fan that was hopping a channel like yours would cover it, thus I'm about as giddy a kid on Christmas morning.

 There's a comment I remember seeing somewhere:

The story of Xenoblade 1 is for your brain. The story of Xenoblade 2 is for your heart. The story of Xenoblade 3 is for your soul.

I hope you too find those stories in the same places that so many of us have.

Without getting into spoilers, Xenoblade 2 has maybe the most emotionally compelling depictions of a Watch Maker god that Ive ever seen

Fun fact: in Japanese, Ontos of the Trinity Processor is instead called Ousia, the Ancient Greek word for 'Essence'. Take that in whichever philosophical or spiritual direction you'd like.
