Asian American here (California). Corporations and politicians may be favorable for immigration, but we should ask -- what is their motive? There is a saying: :"follow the money." I.E., there may be large financial benefits for the few elites, while the rest of society have to pay the price for any downside or negative repercussions. This is the dilemma embodied by "The Tragedy of the Commons." Note: if immigration was such a positive benefit for a host country, why do the wealthy Muslim countries strictly deny entry of other Muslims into their own societies? I have seen street interviews of Japanese citizens on this topic, and I find their responses depressingly naive and uninformed. Are they not aware of the massive destruction happening in many European countries?
