  Talking about Hostel safety, while I was in London, one guy didn't come back with the group one night, lost his phone, and the hostel staff went to the absolute lengths of the Earth to find out where this guy ended up. Turns out he just pulled an all nighter, lost his phone, and rocked back up to the hostel in the morning.

  Im a 70 year old woman, from Canada. In late April, early May I plan to start my backpacking trip to europe so this was helpful. thank you. I've done short 2 week trips to the UK 5 times in 10 years, staying at hostels. This will be a longer and farther version of that. Typically I schedule every hour lol, primarily to pre-book and pay for everything so I can control the exchange rate. I've vowed to do this trip truly with no prior real plan, just a general route. from merrakesh through spain to italy, northern europe, then over to the UK for a while. the excitement is building. Im retired so I can take as long as I want lol.

  Thanks so much for this. Some invaluable info that most people don&apos;t go so in-depth with. I just quit my teaching job of 8 years today and I&apos;ve &nbsp;got 2 months until I start my backpacking trip. Wish me luck..! :D

  Flixbus has very cheap bus connections! Also sometimes it&apos;s cheaper to book the entire route a train takes like Munich to Hamburg and just get off along the way rather than book the shorter trip Munich to Berlin 🤷
