I had a 996.1 GT3 CS for 12 years and was by far the best car I've owned which I miss very much. It had a few modifications including a Manthey K400 upgrade which pushed power close to 400bhp and made it sound even better. Fantastic handling too with great steering feel. Mine was a CS so had the bucket seats which I found just about the most comfortable seats I've ever experienced.

Good video. One correction however, the 996.1 GT3 cars were not overrated in power -- perhaps under, if anything. The 200 you refer to are the first 996.2 GT3 RS cars, which made closer to 400 crank.

Great video. Thanks! I have a modified '98 996 with headers, x-pipe, sport exhaust, chip tuned and KW coilovers. Also the sport seats, center console and rear seats delete. How would this compare with a GT3 Mk1? I'm considering buying a 996 GT3 but I'm not sure if it's worth the premium.

For the 996 GT3 Porsche used the Carrera 4 body which is more rigid than the Carrera 2.
