  I've been informed that the first train is a Sprinter and not an Intercity. Probably should have caught that considering Dutch intercity trains are literally labelled intercity. Whoops

  Nice overview. One small note (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BA8o7yd8HP0&amp;t=122">2:02</a>): In Germany the regional network is called &quot;Regionalbahn&quot; (RB) or &quot;Regionalexpress&quot; (RE). &quot;Deutsche Bahn&quot; (DB) certainly is the biggest and state-owned company but not the only operator for regional trains.

  Birmingham mentioned!<br><br><b>Some corrections</b><br>- The first train was a NS &apos;Sprinter&apos;<br>- Liverpool to Manchester is a Regional service<br>- Proceeds to show trams in almost all of the lightrail section<br>- The Birmingham Airport monorail, or maglev as you incorrectly called it, is still in use today.
