I am an absolute walnut for forgetting that you can use lime to cure hide. That is my bad. Thanks to those who mentioned it already in the comments!!

Tips for translocators: you can enable coordinates to appear in your screen constantly so you can see exactly where you are especially your Y level telling you how deep you are. when you jump to another location, it can jump you to very deep very dangerous locations. Anywhere below Y50 is high tier drifter territory. As soon as you jump try and block the translocator room with soil blocks so nothing spawns and kills you. There’s usually an old ladder in the translocator room. Mark your location at the other side, can use the same color for the icon as the more you explore the more translocators you will find so it’s better to keep track of which one goes where. Dig straight up from the ladder and use ladders until you reach the surface that way when you want to come back you can just climb down your ladders into your translocator and go back home. Trying to explore caves that TLs jump you to is fun but very dangerous if you only have bear armor and you can easily get lost. TLs will jump you a few thousand blocks usually. In order for you to see a significant change in temperature you would have to travel at least 20K blocks south and for that you might need to jump a few translocators. The far south is very very far. You can stagger ladders so you don’t use so many. One every two blocks and you will still be able to climb with no problems.

We love the slow progression on this game and the VS community can get pretty intense but we enjoy so much new people discovering it. Thanks for taking it in stride.

41:11 you’re using valuable inventory space when exploring by bringing three separate bowls of food. You can reduce that by bringing food like bread or pies when adventuring since they stack up to 16 and once eaten you clear your inventory instead of having to bring bowls or pots that way you have more inventory space for loot. Also I don’t know if you have the carry on mod which allows you to bring an extra container on your back. Doubling your inventory space for loot when exploring. BYW that TL jumped you to a limestone biome! So useful! Nice episode!

i must say, one thing that impresses me the most about your building skills is just how fast you managed to build this house of yours, i have 3 worlds on record in this game with the third currently in session (also i probably need not say this, but i absolutely suck at building)

in the first one i never really bothered with anything but a tiny modest shack
in the second i actually did try to build a homestead of similar size to yours, maybe a bit larger but a lot more simplistic, and it took so much precious time from the warm months that i nearly starved in winter (though i was using a lot of ashlar bricks and drystone which take significantly more stone than just cobble, and i was playing the blackguard class that has faster hunger rate)
and now in the third i decided on something even more ambitious, but decided to pause the project in the middle of summer after just getting two cubes of stone and wood with some wattle and daub on top and a few support beams until i get into a more stable position and wait out the first winter not to repeat the same mistake again

you built all of this, including a greenhouse, before the first winter even hit, AND you managed to get into the iron age while doing it, that is insane

Yeah, it's disappointing how little of the bear armor gets repaired.
It's always better to craft a new one.
Hopefully things will improve with the complete overhaul of the armor system they're currently working on.
But since we don't know when that will be released, we'll just have to make do with what we have for now.

By the way, you can also make a helmet out of the bear's head.

17:30 You just have to stand in the water; it doesn't matter for the block.
23:00 Buy the Cabbage seeds; you can't find them in the wild, and they're very hard to come by.
Plus, they're very nutritious.

I'm not sure about this, but I think the chunks are only updated once they've been loaded or are already loaded, and they're covered in snow if they're in the same climate zone.
In any case, it's snowing throughout the entire climate zone, not just where you are right now.

Large plateau = large castle

It is always hard to accommodate everyone's preference for watching content. Like my personal preference would have these videos move at a much slower pace, especially so I can watch and learn how the game works, but i love watching the full process and enjoying the patience of it.

Either way I enjoy watching your videos. Enjoy the game and we'll watch!

You only need a ladder every other block.

Silver and gold are great for making black bronze but since you’re already at iron you don’t really need that’s one super useful use for them is to make lanterns brighter by adding a gold or silver plate to them. Other than that, gold and silver is useful for very late game gear. No spoilers.
