There’s something wrong with the whole car manufacturing industry when a car of that age needs 8000.00 in repairs. Period.

Automotive engineer here. Entire industry is trying to rip the consumer off.
1. This car doesn't need struts unless they are leaking or there is a drivability issue which wasn't reported.

2. All this fiddle farting around for a bad lambda on cylinder 2.
a. pull no. 2 spark plug and replace it.
b. swap coils to see if its coil related
c. boroscope/compression check cylinder no. 2 to ensure the cylinder is ok
d. replace a 'single injector'. Replacing all injectors because of a single bad lambda is raping the customer.

A lot of mechanics are a combination of not knowing what they are doing or they just want to overcharge the customer for their 'parts cannon' approach like this.

For those that aren't technically inclined, grab your ankles unless you get lucky and find a honest mechanic who knows what they are doing.

That’s some serious 2nd mile service. Got her battery swapped under warranty and called the dealer regarding injectors to see if they’re covered. Simply amazing! You guys are the gold standard in auto repair!

I put Bosch plugs in my 2005 Honda pilot. A year later I needed my timing belt replaced. I told the dealer go ahead and replace plugs too. $23.93 per plug that's 143.58 for 6. They quit making those Bosch plugs. The next time I removed the plugs...they were the Bosch plugs I installed. I thought I could trust that Dealer. Obviously not.

Look up the Honda 1.5 liter oil dilution class action lawsuit. They don't want people talking about this. Honda even tried blaming us consumers for making "too many short trips" until people started blowing them up online. If you cannot go down the street to the store without fuel draining past the rings, that's not the consumers fault.

Pressure test your cooling system, remove your plug on cyl#2, stick your borescope down cyl#2 and wait to see if coolant is dripping down the cylinder wall. 1.5T headgasket failure is a known issue between cyl's 2&3! Injecor failure is a known issue as well. (Honda tech)

Hey Sherwood just to clarify,if someone hasn't already, injectors would be covered 10 years 150k miles if the vehicle falls into a California emissions state . We have California emissions in New York so we have replaced many sets of injectors under warranty. Also autolite plugs never work well with Hondas. Have had to educate many customers on this subject. Saving money on the plugs costs more in the long run.

Really enjoying this Eric. 68 year old retired mechanic here in Canada and I sure miss not working everyday. I help out a new young mechanic starting out with his own shop and volunteer my time just to keep active. I would love to go back at it full time but the big C kicks my butt. Keep up the great work and I think you are on heck of a good guy with a great family. God bless you all.

In 40 years of servicing commercial/ industrial combustion systems, even though ignitors appear satisfactory, it was the ceramic insulators that took the spark to ground while the electrode was in spec. Once the glaze on the ceramic insulator is diminished, even slightly, the spark travels along it to ground. In spark "plugs" this occurs anywhere along the length of the electrode that, sometimes, is impossible to see with the naked eye. I've had to replace ignitors that looked "new" but caused all sorts of issues. From what I can see, the ceramic insulators are discolored from heat, glaze in gone leaving a porous surface that conductive debris sticks to.

Head gaskets are a huge problem with these Accords. Especially the 1.5. Turbos, injectors, fail consistently also

NGK does not recommend using anti-seize on their spark plugs because they have a trivalent plating that acts as a corrosion-resistant, anti-seize coating.
