The famous "Three Musketeers" plus d'Artagnan were in fact historical figures adopted of course by Alexandre Dumas for his unforgettable stories. D'Artagnan died as an officer of Musketeers during the siege of Maastricht leading a storming party on one of the city's gates. These men were true larger than life heroes who deserved their belated fame in Dumas' iconic novels.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Geoffrey Rush played Walsingham in the movies, "Elizabeth," and "Elizabeth: The Golden Age." His Walsingham was understated and fascinating to watch. He made the CIA look like the Keystone Cops.

I think that the portrait shown at 08:42 minutes was not Mary, Queen of Scots, but Mary I, sister of Elizabeth and Catholic Queen of England.

What was the saying ? "Never put your trust in the friendship of Princes" (or words to that effect) which the Earl of Strafford said on the execution scaffold after Charles I had abandoned his most loyal subject and friend to the animosity of Parliament. Others like Cardinal Wolsey, Anne Boleyn, Thomas Cromwell and Sanc Mars would have heartily agreed ! 😢
A Republic may be a fallable form of government, but it is far better than any kind of monarchy.

The Tudors were a horrid dynasty. Especially after Henry’s break with Rome, coercion, secret police, torture & imprisonment, political & religious persecution became the name of the game. Wes this the “new beginning” promised by the Protestant movement? Tyranny, secret police, spies & snitches, assassination & many executions, crushing of conscience and resistance, which construed after Henry through Elizabeth?

Let's correct something the Confederates were Democrats that wanted to keep slavery ! the Republicans ( the Union ) we're the ones against slavery who Van Lew fought for and to add to that she probably had the love and belief of Jesus Christ on her side that's why she endured. She flew the American flag because it was her right as an American and she was proud of it does that sound familiar
