Thanks. It's so good to see a workflow and how it relates to the Z1. As a beginner, this has helped immensely

Thanks for creating these videos showing your entry into Makera Z1 workflows. They are very interesting and helpful.

Great vid! Looking forward to the follow up video. I’m just leaning fusion cam too. Every mistake is a chance to learn.

16:39 you need to look in the gcode at where the last op failed, then start again, pause, raise the tool to clear the block then go to the tab next to gcode and type “goto —-“ the dashes being the gcode line it ended on, this should cause it to start back where it ended, I typically start a couple hundred lines prior to the error to let it ramp up before hitting chewed metal

love it!! hey i have a question. if i want to duplicate a knife handle scale, will having a 3d hand scanner help? making it easier to duplicate? or everything you want to make you have to design yourself?

Good Video. I learned a lot, i am new to it, too. Never machined anything yet. But please, next time, do not put Music on it while you are speaking, its nerv wrecking. Why the hell everyone think that a video needs music? I can switch on any music i like to hear anytime on almost every device i have here laying around, i do not need music in videos like this.
Keep up the good work with the next project i would love to see.

Is that the full version of Fusion or the free hobby version?

Your block needs to be faced before, youstill have round angle and uneven surfaces. You should use the community controller and firmware. The MakeraStudio app is still in beta version and has a lot of bugs. The community controller works amazingly well... If you don't use the colet on the tool and stick it higher on the spindle you need to edit the tool settings...

Many of these new CNC machines require a net connection in order to operate properly. Huge drawback

Shame. The 5th axis features look amazing

why ppl love the limitation of fusion, that's simple enough part to CAM it fully on makera studio with all it's limitations. What is even more infuriating is why do we have to follow steps like it's 1980... machines have the digital probes, can't they touch the stock to fully measure it, position it and than know how deep do they cut.

Oh boy. Well lest start from the begining - software - throw this stock app to the garbage and try some tutorials in fusion 360. I promise you, not more than a two days you will be milling like a pro. It gives you more control and simulates the cut so you know exacly what went wrong with the toolpath. First major mistake - Stock - You can do what you did but this is not a proffesional way to do it. First of all you need to measure the stock material with ~2-3mm of adition for the first operation and maybe depth of vice step + 2mm in Z so you wont be doing so much work. Most of external raw material providers without a problem will offer you a pre-cut raw material as desired. Also always design with the material "steps" in mind. Melters do not form material in 1mm steps, usually they make up to 20 with 2mm steps than 5 so when you design a part do not design it for 36mm tall cause you will have 4mm of raw material to collect. Secondly - you need plan the whole stock not just are where you are machining as it will be a problem when you go for second operation. Now milling on its own - use the biggest end mill you have - always. Unless you made small corners or holes always use the biggest tool in the sheed. Even so, use the small mill only for designated small operation - smaller tool = slower path and small tools are way weaker = break faster. When you start second milling operation always probe from finished surface. Trust me - whenever i was tellng myself that probing from raw material for 2 operation was a good idea it never ever in my life was a good idea. It will be much more precise then you measure distance from the vice to part and set in fusion WCS above the depth of vice and probe in Z from the vice itself - not raw material. Than you just plan the exceeding material, and do a finishing path from ~0.1 mm so the part will not look like it was made by a drunk blind dwarf with a toothpick instead of a hammer. Regardless - dont take my hints as saying "you are shity at cnc" - this is a very long long looong learning curve and if this is your first contact you did quite a good job with some bumps on the way. Hope you enjoy this hobby and change the machine for some real deal ASAP. Bye !
