  I’ve always loved Catherine’s choice of the halo tiara to wear on her wedding day. It’s beautiful, but not flashy, ensuring that its presence did not detract from the beauty and radiance of the bride that wore it. It reflected the quiet grace, that Catherine is known for. The more opulent pieces would come later, but that day sparkled the brightest with the love of the young couple, and the hope of a nation.

  Catherine’s hair is much thicker than Diana’s was. She also wears it long and sometimes adds hairpieces in to thicken it when she wears her braided chignons. This allows the Lover’s Knot Tiara to sit more on her hair, pinned into it, so the weight isn’t crashing into her head. In addition, I believe the pearl drops have been tightened so they don’t swing as much, so the noise is minimized. She obviously learned lessons from her MIL’s discomfort and made the Tiara work for her, both in honor of The Late Queen and the late Diana.
