$16,500 is a steal for the car. In the end never bring an “older” car to the dealer. They don’t like reselling old cars as real car people don’t buy from the dealer.

Thank god I got into automotive detailing young, it’s saved me on so many cars in trade in or outright sale. My sister had a Ford Focus, you know the ones with busted transmissions. It had problems, CarMax offered $3500 on our first visit. I took it back, made the car immaculate outside and inside, we’re talking PERFECT black paint, immaculate wheels, wheel wells spotless, interior spotless, engine bay looking better than the day it left the factory, and they offered $6200 the second time around. Told me it was the cleanest car they’d ever taken in on trade. They swapped a used transmission in with no issues and ended up selling it for $9400. The manager and salesperson ended up calling me and thanking me for the cosmetic overhaul, said it would have been a loser deal if I hadn’t put in the work. The details matter!!!!!
