  Fun Fact; my best friend moved to Dubai when I was a kid, so he got Sonic 3 months before I did. We ended up on the phone for hours as he told me all about it. My parents were rather... displeased with that phone bill. That was also the first time I learned about Super Sonic because neither I nor my brother were good enough to get all the emeralds in Sonic 2 yet. I thought my buddy was lying. Gold Sonic? You're full of it, mate. Then I got all the emeralds at last...

  My favorite aesthetic technique in S3&K is the way the second act of a given zone will not only have a remixed version of the act 1 music, but the background will change, typically bringing the player closer. This feeling of moving toward the background not only gives the story progression a more dimensional feel, but diminishes potential boredom by ensuring that act 2 won't feel quite like act 1. Only issue I have is that the initial background for Angel Island Zone is so absolutely gorgeous, and I think the designers shouldn't have introduced the transition to the fire version until the actual boss fight.

  To think that in an alternate universe, there is a purple echidna named Dreds saying "I know dee way" in an Ugandan accent, and that makes me smile.

  I adore Sonic 3 & Knuckles, I adore everything about it and I’m fascinated by it’s development and history, it’s by far the best game in the series especially when combined with the Sonic & Knuckles cartridge, it was perfect and fixed all the flaws of the first 2 Sonic games, it’s amazing how they were able to find the game working with Yugi Naka with how much he was a pain to work with, but he was important to Sonic’s development and he was talented, Sonic 3 & Knuckles is the first game I completed without cheating and the first Sonic game where I got an all the chaos emeralds. Sonic 3 & Knuckles soundtrack is my favourite in the series, they went all out and you can tell Michael Jackson was involved with the music.

  Sonic 3 was the very first video game I played back in 1994. To this day it is still my favourite video game, and I could go back and replay it over and over again without ever thinking about what I'm doing. S3&K is platforming perfection. It is Classic Sonic at his best, and the myriad of hacks for it only proves how amazing of a game it is, and how people are constantly inspired by it.

  Adventure 1 also makes it canon that Eggman is canonically his nickname, which started as an insult that Sonic and friends throw at him before he ends up embracing it in Adventure 2, with Adventure 1 having Eggman call himself Doctor Ivo Robotnik. <br><br>So I&apos;m sure both names were officially canon well before Sonic Generations made the joke.

  I loved Ice Cap Zone&apos;s theme so much as a kid (I was 13 when I got this game), I was astounded when I heard the replaced version (at the time I had no idea why). Also I missed the miniboss theme in S3&amp;K, preferring the older version. I guess I understand why now, but the replacement themes are nothing compared to the originals. And thanks for giving me just enough Lava Reef Zone Act 1 music to fondly remember it.<br><br>Also the Sonic 3 Final boss theme appearing in S3&amp;K, followed by the Doomsday Zone game me the biggest chills when I first experienced it.
