  About 25 years ago we took our small children to sea world in San Antonio. We walked around the entire park all day. When we went to the orca show I suddenly started crying. I couldn't stop. To see those magnificent creatures in the pen was too overwhelming for me. I left the show and have never been to sea world again. My children didn't understand back then, but they do now. They don't go to sea world either.

  One thing I found interesting was that “the whales often come up with the ideas themselves” then I cringed when they showed one trainer going all the way to the bottom of the tank with the orca. The exact way a couple trainers (and one “drifter”) were killed or injured.

  Nothing justifies keeping a 5 to 6 thousand pound animal in a pool ! They slowly go insane wouldn’t you in a closed closet after probably 5 years?

  This is a fascinating look into our ignorant past... I just can't finish watching it though, not after what we know now. Here's hoping attitudes changed even more in the future, and never again will we capture and exploit these beautiful creatures

  it’s interesting how much information is either not said or not known not only is seaworld painted as a respectable place but there’s a lack of emphasis on the matriarchal structures of orca pods

  Fun fact, killer whales used to have legs and they walked on land. They evolved to be aquatic animals due to the abundance of food in the seas

  Unbelievable how times have changed !! Spacious pools ? Ultimate care ? These  animals are exploited and abused from capture till death !!!
