A big summer flounder behaves in much the same way as a bigger striped bass. It is looking to eat 1 or 2 meals a day, and chill the rest of the time. So, dont be afraid to use striped bass sized baits, like 7 inch jerk shads, or a bucktail, with an 8 to 12 inch strip of fish meat, be it croaker, spot, bluefish, sea robin, and v if permitted, hickory shad or fluke belly. Those big hen flounder sit in those rocks waiting for a juvenile anything to venture out on the sand, so a live mullet there or a snapper bluefish might slso catch a 10 lb+ plus fish . A jetty in NJ has given up 3 20+lb. spearfished flounder in the past few years, so giants are there. And always fish wth the tide, regardless of wind, snd fish vertically as much as possible.
