  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ajo2splg3UE&amp;t=537">8:57</a> my brother and sister in-law have stated in no uncertain terms that i am to no longer give wrapped Christmas or birthday gifts to their kids.<br><br>This stems from a bulk purchase of party whistles/flutes that always ended up in their kids hands until they kinda grew out of them. Yet the terms of gift giving remains strong. However, they have asked how many i have left for when their kids have kids. I showed them and we laughed manically.

  The television thing is real. Back when I lived in a major mid-west city next to the local university, we had a garbage strike right at the holidays. I and my housemates simply boxed up all our trash, wrapped it in nice gift paper and place the boxes in my old (like really old) car at the local mall with the doors unlocked. Trash disappeared. Another time, same city--my uncle had one of those old Tecumseh gas mowers with the engine that weighted like 40 lbs. (Push mower) it was frozen and long past fixing. They wanted to charge him like a hundred bucks to take the thing at the junkyard so on a blistering hot summer day, I went out back of his home where the local alley ran parallel with the street, took his good mower and mowed a strip of grass, placed the broken mower at the end of the grass strip and went inside to drink a Coke, came back, mower was gone.
