AI slop shows ‘KFC Col Saunders’ rather than the actual Saunders brothers.

I’ve been buying from Herring since 2008. I’ve still got all my boots  and shoes of their label over a decade later.

Very nicely done.  I've been looking for something like this video explaining all the English men's shoe manufacturers.  Thank you!

I have worn Loake 1880 shoes for many years. They last and, when I've had mine re-soled, Loake have also refurbished the uppers. Importantly, the sole bed moulds to one's foot-shape so, after a couple of weeks' use, one wouldn't know they're being worn!

I have bought Loake shoes and boots over the years as they represent a sweet spot for quality and value in price. I worked for K Shoes from 1980 and bought their export range of shoes with staff discount which spoiled me for good shoes for ever. I still have a pair of the Scafell semi-brogue welt stitched commando soled shoes that I wear for walking in country areas. They have been re-soled and heeled three times and when I last had them repaired I was undecided to spend over £50 when the cobbler told me that I would need to spend over £300 to replace with an equivalent new pair. I checked and he was correct so I still wear them in my retirement some 40years from new. Your statement that branding allows higher prices is true - whilst at K Shoes I saw that the Next clothing chain took men's styles from the Company (in a much reduced specification) and then sold them at a higher price to people who had probably walked past the K shoe shop to buy them in a more popular fashionable retail outlet.

I bought my first serious pair of English shoes from Churches, a pair of brown Diplomat IV's in 1983,(i paid £85.00)  i wore them when i married in 1987 and had them resoled 3 times before the uppers developed a crack. I have a newer pair of Diplomat IV's, they are 12 years old still going strong (£180.00), a pair of black Churches loafers, 2 pairs of Cheaney suede brogues.

If you're talking about English shoes and buying in England, why so many shots of Euros? We still use Pounds Sterling

I had several pairs of Loake, a pair of Grensons,  still have some Barkers and a long time ago had some of the British made Doc Martins, they were very comfortable and lasted ages. Loake and Barkers are sold in New Zealand but more expensive, and you don't get the discounted specials. There is a Barkers brand in New Zealand but unrelated and nothing like the quality of the English shoes.

Solovair are good but should have a video of its own, it's not welted like the other shoes.

I have a pair of leather soled tan London Brogues that I bought about ten years ago. Polished before each wear with Saphir Pate deluxe.

I've been wearing Barkers for over 60 years. Loafer, Oxford and Brogue. Haven't had so many pairs as they last upwards of 16, 17 years!
