What a fun and diverse album. I really liked it when it was first released and still do, one of my faves. Yup, i had that poster on my wall at college !

I just picked up the original press of this. I actually really enjoy the widely varying production and insane swings in staging and stereo imaging quality in this album. It gives it a pretty unique feeling. It is really noticable though.

My mom who passed in 2007, saw queen in concert here in the States. It was in the late 70s I guess. I wasn't into music much back then or I would have asked her more about it.

Agree with you about the uneven mix/production. Other than that, it's a fun album, possibly their most loose, humorous one.

I loved this album for some reason I can't quite put my finger on, not one of their best but there is still something about it. Fair honest review.

Innuendo is my favourite, then A Kind of Magic, as much as I love A Night at the Opera, Sheer Heart Attack. Innuendo is just superb.

Production issues aside, I losten to it more often than News of the World.

A nice album in my opinion, one I've always liked very much, partly because of the big differences between the songs. But that is of course a grand feature of practically all of the Queen albums, although (over the top of my head) I mainly feel that on the albums from Sheer Heart Attack until Jazz.
A thing in liking this one still a lot, that it was one of the three Queen albums my father owned (and owns), therefor one got to know quite well until I started buying the other albums myself, during the late 90's and early 2000's.
My hifi facilities where not good enough to get bothered by a bad production, although the odd change of volume did and still can annoy me. Still there I sat, walked and lay, enchanted by all the big and rich guitar and vocal arrangements, nice melodies to sink in and sing along to (Jealousy for instance).

Apart from the poster I liked the inner photo of the gatefold very much. I found it very cool to seem them (a kind of) working in the studio, with all those instruments, flight cases and other things scattered around the room.

You know the infamous story behind the Bicycle Race Poster? Queens Management hired those bikes from Halfords and after the photo shoot, upon returning the bikes, Halfords had to change all the saddles and Queen had to pay. Bet some perv had a good whiff.

A great looking album cover. This is the last Queen album I could abide. It started to get really schlocky after this release.

Loved the first five Queen albums-fortunately managed to see them live 3 times. But after the first five, they became very patchy.Quite a bit of dross mixed in with the odd gem.
