Youtube has been cooking with this videos autoplay. I fall asleep to this video, and wake up to "gregorian chants in a medieval chapel". Yes my wife has been very annoyed as she woke up to it. And yes I had a dream where I was a knight fighting Orcs and Dragons.

10/10, dream-gang is still going strong, just need to figure out how to force the volume to turn down so she does not strangle me in my sleep.

When I read TLOTR I couldn’t believe Gandalf let Saruman go, twice!! But once you learn/recall Morgoth, Sauron and Gólům were given a chance to repent you check yourself and sagely nod along with Gandalfs decision.

Sharkey, from the orcish "Sharku", meaning "Old Man".

Surely his spies around the shire would have noticed the Dunedain surrounding it and protecting it?

Hey Robert great video as always. You mentioned that when they came over it was all in the form of old men, and I am not sure that is 100% accurate. Saruman for sure had dark hair when he arrived and aged visibly over time. It was noted specifically that Gandalf choose a much older form showing how humble he was. Perhaps I’ve misunderstood, or perhaps it was the case that whilst they all took the form of old(ish) men, Gandalf was considerably older looking, and Saruman still looked old but with black hair and did age over the millennia

Did Saruman know that Gandalf had the ring of fire?

One of the first characters I got randomly attracted to, and it only got worse when I learned about the man who brought him to life on screen 😅

Would really love if you were to read the Malazan Book of the Fallen series, mainly because I appreciate your insights and world lore explanations/insights into ASOIAF and LOTR, and think you'd enjoy a new series challenge to explore, plus it's an amazing series.

If Sauroman knew they'd head to Helms deep why didn't he have a detachment of Uruki to hold it before they got there?
