Alone in CHINA... This Was Harder Than I Expected

  Me (F63) took my grandson (13) to china this year and travelled by train for 2 weeks seeing many of the sites in all the different cities. I absolutely loved Beijing and am hoping to go back next year. Use the translate app on your phone and everything is doable. Enjoy your trip

  I’m a 70-year-old man from Hungary, and I just got back from China. I was there for 4 weeks, and it was my 4th trip to China in 13 months. But this was the first trip where I mainly did tourism. <br>I visited 4 major cities and a few smaller ones. I had one business day, visiting a small factory in a small city. On the way there, I was driven past cornfields, so I got a small glimpse into rural life in China. <br>I also visited Beihai, which is considered a small city in China, even though it has about 1.5 million people. It’s a coastal city very close to the Vietnam border, and it has one of the nicest beaches in the world — people just don’t know about it yet. There are 12 km of sandy beach. <br>I visited Beijing, Tianjin, Chongqing, Chengdu, and of course Shenzhen, where my airplane arrived. It was a wonderful experience. Every day brought something new. &quot;I&apos;ll be back&quot;

  A tip if your staying at any hotel always take a business card from the reception, so you take a taxi back to the hotel by showing them the card.

  That&apos;s what going abroad should be all about, not knowing the language, not having a clue what is going on. Its all part of visiting foreign countries

  Love China a wonderful country, 5 weeks last time!! Just an amazing place and wonderfully friendly people. Also spotlessly clean and modern. We are light years behind in everything. Virtually no crime and feels so safe!!

  Jack is a legend. You were so fortunate to come across him. <br>When I traveled to Gwangju in South Korea I found a Jack. He was the concierge in my hotel and translated everything for me. He didn’t have to do that. He was just mint. He cried when I left because there was a monsoon and he was worried about me getting all the way home. &nbsp;Much lovely people in that part of the world. Jack needs a cultural embassador award ❤
