I threw away a bunch of photos of my evil stepfather (passed away 25 years ago). His kids died several years ago, so no one to pass them to. It was very therapeutic to get him symbolically out of my life for good.

I've been a silent subscriber for some time now, while also being on my minimalist journey for several years. I just want to say thank you, Dawn. I truly appreciate everything you bring to your vlogs: your forthrightness and your kindness. You have been such a gentle teacher for me throughout this journey. I've learned so much from you! Much love from Berlin 🦋🫶💙

I agree about just sitting and reading with a coffee. At 56 I have determined that I don’t want to garden or do big hobbies. I want to read, bake sometimes, cook a new recipe, go to the beach, go to the springs. I occasionally pull out my one box of beading/jewelry making stuff (it has to fit in that container). I want my home and yard to be so easy that I can do these things and live in a, in truth, clean with no clutter home.

Thanks to you, I've reached a point where my house is easy enough that I can sit with a coffee and a book. For that, I thank you.

On a side note, I had a friend come in, and she said my house was so clean and it wasn't but it's so decluttered and simple that it always looks clean and for that, I thank you.

You need a bin for errand day. For returns, library books, things you want to drop off to your sister, etc. Once a week do those errands and get yourself a treat. No more returns that are too late! Love your channel!

The best thing I’ve learnt is 5mins matter.
Being a recovering hoarder, at times getting started is hard mentally, but when I get up, set the timer, I know I can do this. 😊

Thank you for talking about mental, emotional, and physical capacity. I had zero capacity today, even though today was the only day I had to catch up from a ridiculous work week. I slept in but still crawled back into bed this afternoon for a nap. I lost my husband in December, and some days are just more than I can deal with. I got up from my nap and powered through what had to be done, but I was feeling super guilty that I didn't get everything on my list done. Your words really helped.

I love how real you are. You are amazing. Thank you for talking about the "season" we are in. I have chronic fatigue and I'm struggling so much with my house. There is so much shame. I love how you talked in such an accepting way about that. I do what I can when I can and when I sit, I feel so guilty. Thank you so much for your understanding. I look forward to getting things more livable. It's been extra hard since we lost the use of half our house due to a flood (finished basement). My husband is still slowly working on it and it's been 2 years. Not giving up. Listening to videos like this gives me hope and motivates me.
