I was the Key Grip on this movie. The first version of the script that I read had Sylvester Stallone as the celebrity zombie, with gag lines written around his Rocky character. Stallone dropped out just as we began shooting and the producers scrambled for a while looking for his replacement. After a few other actors rejected the part, Woody Harrelson suggested Bill Murray, who was already in Atlanta filming Get Low. He personally called him up, Murray agreed and the rest is history.

Yes, number 2 is good. I hope we don't have to wait until next Halloween to see the reaction!

Love this movie. The cast is perfect, and they nailed the tone perfectly. The sequel is great too.

Bill Murray's appearance in this movie must be the best cameo of cinema history... ever.

26:10 There's an entire circular conversation in "Rick and Morty" where they talk about how Bill Murray played Peter Venkman, who was voiced by Lorenzo Music in the cartoon version of Ghostbusters and after Music passed away, Bill Murray voiced Garfield, who was originally voiced by Lorenzo music.

I love that Woody's second choice for a tool he pulls out of the back of his truck is a garden weasel "as seen on tv"
