Like video of Jefferson Davis‘s friends, general Pemberton was incompetent. He had to change the position of his army because he ignored Johnson’s orders and then was forced to turn back around. If you to follow his regional orders, he and Johnson would have met up and they probably could have defeated Grant as they would’ve been close to the same numbers. Pembroke is no different than you know great origin, poke, probably a good person who was a terrible officer.
