  I use each week per 1000L of water :<br>5kg aged cow dung or chicken manure (put in a fine mesh bag in order to retain the solids)<br>100g super phosphate<br>15g potassium chloride<br>Instead of the superphosphate and KCl you can use 35g of MKP per 1000L, but it&apos;s slightly more expensive and you wont get the calcium and sulphur from the superphosphate, but adding manure usually covers that. I know people that only uses chicken manure and have very good results, and then feeds the azolla back to the chickens, partially eliminating soy from their diet.<br><br>I use 3 ponds and harvest them in an rotating fashion, half a pond per day, so each pond gets 3 days of rest to recover.<br>Fresh water is added once or twice a week to replenish what is lost to evapotranspiration and plant absortion.<br>I also use 50% shade cloth on top of the ponds, and that&apos;s it.

  Got my azolla today and put in kiddie pool. &nbsp;Put a little seedling mix in the base and a capfull of seasol into fresh rainwater. &nbsp;Will keep an eye on the sun exposure as it does get morning sun but I do live in Australia so our sun is very hot. &nbsp;Wish me luck. &nbsp;Azolla is very hard to get in the area where I live. &nbsp;Starting small and hope to get some friends to join in growing Azolla as well. &nbsp;I plan on feeding chickens and using as fertilizer for my plants and at some point eating it myself in soups etc. &nbsp;I’m keen to see where this goes.

  Thank you for sharing.<br>We tried it out and actually got very good results for the first and second week.<br> Then it all went pale and stopped growing.<br>We&apos;re planning to replant it once more and possibly try to avoid or minimize or completely eradicate pests for better results as you&apos;ve rightly advised.

  Azolla is one of the more frustrating plants to grow. I had 3 3x2 mt ponds with perfect Azolla doing great and then it rained. Within 36 hours it all died. Just the slightest stress and you lose it

  You said excessive sunlight as harming the plant,... is that only when it gets say... above 85 degrees F? Would it still do fine in sun but less than 84 degrees F? I&apos;ve noticed some plants seem to not do as well when the temperatures get too hot. But others like it hot. shrug.<br><br>I&apos;m curious about the comparison tradeoff of sunlight versus temperature. And sometimes it can look like 1 but be the other, or both.
