Really loved the Roger Stern and John Romita Jr era on Amazing Spider-Man.

JRJR and JMS on Amazing Spider-Man is one of my favorite collaborative efforts in comics of all time. Such good stuff

Hooboy, Frank Miller...touchy subject, but I appreciate both of your gracious takes on his artistic evolution. I've gotta reveal some closet skeletons in order to give context for my take on it, but I recognize that my personal anecdotes hold no more water than anyone else's whose name isn't Frank Miller. -- I've been both a comic and comic-adjacent artist for 30+ years, and a studious scrutinizer of comic art styles for even longer, and I've also survived two major life events that dramatically affected my art style in ways that mirror Miller's track eerily well [oof, clunky sentence alert!]. For about a decade starting in the early '00's, I sank into a dark period of substance abuse, and around 5 years ago, I survived a major (unrelated) heart failure, the recovery from which is ongoing today. During and after both events, my art style drastically changed...'devolved' some would argue, and that's why as I look at Frank's work today, I can't help but recognize certain qualities in the line art and anatomical abstraction, and agree with those who worry that his recent work may be the result of something similarly health-related. For full disclosure, I've never had any particular affection for his work (gritty crime noir ain't my jam, and both Batman and Daredevil I can take or leave), but I have nothing against the man. 9-11 effed us ALL up in unique ways, and I can sympathize with his dark turn while disagreeing vehemently with his political stance. Point being, this is not a personal or biased attack on him...if anything it's a call for empathy and support rather than mockery or demonization.

I love it when people who talk art in comics can actually be well-spoken and descriptive about the things they discuss! You guys use really great adjectives and descriptors to discuss the differences and similarities in style between artists and the eras of individual artists. Great video to you and @stokedmatty !

Keith Giffen's style went to many strange places. Mike Mignola's evolution to get to Hellboy is really fun to track. David Mazzucchelli went from the Marvel Bullpen to the avante garde.

JRJR was one of my favorites before and after his change.  I loved his XMen but preferred Paul Smith.  His Punisher was pretty killer too. Man with No Fear was awesome too.

Chris Bachalo is one that fascinates me. The change was so drastic and so distinct

This was a great discussion! Would love a part two. Loved that you included Bachalo and Jae Lee here! To me, Olivier Coipel is another guy that went through a huge style change. Like one day something clicked and he totally changed it up.

When we get to specific style, I love Tradd Moore! It flows soo beautifully and it fit fantastically with Silver Surfer
