I thought my child was "typical," but started to suspect when he started voicing concerns about his own anxiety. Even after his AuADHD diagnosis, i didnt believe it, because everything they said was a symptom I thought was a normal part of the human condition that everyone struggled with. I mean it's only been a few days now, but I'm realizing that my son isn't the only one with AuADHD.

I have gotten into alot of arguments mimicing accents. People get offended. I try to explain it, it's because i like it. They think I'm covering for myself.

This was an excellent one for me. I'm actually hyper-aware of some social cues since I've built it up over decades of mistakes. Im fairly literaI and it took time to realize that I rarely understand the true meaning of song lyrics, that there was subtext. I have some blind spots that add to anxiety. I often don't get a social clue for up to days afterward, and I have that terrible moment of realization. Otherwise, that's me. Thank you for the video! It helps a lot.

Those ADHD symptoms sound so mundane. I’m not just impulsive, I’m sometimes violently impulsive and procrastination feels like I’m physically incapable of doing the thing I need to do.<br><br>So weird how so much can disappear under the veil of clinical language.

Love what you talked about <br>Only one small correction. ADHD people ARE also neurodivergent and not neurotypical. The word you were looking for is allistic (non-autistic)

I hate that I massively identify with these traits, but the psychiatrist I'm seeing "just can't see ADHD being a possibility". She really didn't listen to me, and kept explaining things away. <br><br>"Smart people procrastinate school work because they know they can do it"<br><br>"Tapping your leg constantly is just anxiety"<br><br>"You're just experiencing bias due to family members with their diagnosed conditions"<br><br>And more 🙃
