It's a shame children live in communities where there is housing, schools and playgrounds and they become a bottom priority. The community should count their lucky stars for you two volunteering to come and clean this mess up. Good on you two for such a good job!

A spade is for digging holes and a shovel has curved edges for shoveling coal originally I think. the playground came up a treat 🤩

A spade for digging, a shovel for lifting.<br>A spade has a thicker,stronger blade in order to cut through soil and not bend.<br>A shovel is thinner,wider to lift as much as possible.<br>Great work from these young men,they obviously take pride in doing a job well.

To help keep the moss down after your cleaning, they can apply sodium bicarbonate (baking soda to us Americans) every 3 to 6 months or so to the playground. This will kill off the moss
