I was in my bedroom aged 12. My Mum came upstairs to tell me that Jochen Rindt had been killed. He was not the first of my F1 heroes to die at the wheel. Jim Clarke had already gone. So many through the years, lost their lives, simply by living their dreams…..but Jochen Rindt’s tragic crash really hit me hard.

33:39 Fun fact: The driver involved in this terrifying flip is Hans Herrmann, and the clip itself is from the 1959 German Grand Prix, held at the notorious AVUS. Herrmann not only survived this crash, but was also unhurt, thanks to nothing but sheer good luck.

As of writing this, Herrmann is the last surviving F1 podium finisher from the '50s, with his 97th birthday coming up on the 26th of February.

I think it is entirely possible that, given the closeness between Hawthorn and Collins, Mussi did not understand their British humour. I can't believe that they held any animosity toward him.

As someone who comes from racing family, and has seen family friends lose their lives on the track; thank you for the absolute respectful tone of these videos.

It's amazing just how much Stirling Moss lost by being one of the nicest people Motorsport has ever had. At least 2 F1 titles effectively given up that I can think of, through simply being the textbook definition of a gentleman

As a hardcore motorsport enthusiast, these are the best produced crash documentaries I have ever seen. I love how the focus is on the human story of the driver and the situations that led to the crash and the changes that were made in the aftermath. Most videos/docs focus on the sensationlization of the crash and is more about click- bait for non-motorsports types. This is also the motus operandi of many outlets that broadcast motorsports events. These series of documentaries clearly involves a great deal of effort and research and as a motorsport ethusiast, I really appreciate your efforts. Kudos for the excellent effort producing these documentaries!!!

The 1958 season was really sad, everything was like a very cruel script, when you described the things that happened

The all-consuming hate of Collins and Hawthorn by Fiamma Breschi was chilling. Imagine saying essentially "I feel better now that you are dead." Damn. Great documentary mate

27:28 how disgusting, imagine taking the widow of one of your drivers and making her your mistress

THIS is how a docuseries is supposed to be… engaging, emotional, respectuful and enjoyable. Very good job MM!!

It's so awful that. despite Jackie's ongoing heroic effort for driver safety, Seppi still died in Jackie's 1971 victory race when basic checks on the workability of the fire extinguishers - something so simple and obvious - may very possibly have saved him.
Brilliantly researched and presented films, thank you.
