BARCELONA: TOO BEAUTIFUL FOR ITS OWN GOOD? (Spain)

  I visited a total of 10 places during a 20 day period in Spain.  I started with Madrid and I fell in love.  So much to do, to see.  It's so different from where I am, bay area, California.  It's another world.  The best part of my trip was visiting small towns like Toledo, Segovia, Montserrat, Girona, Segovia, etc.  It was definitely an unforgettable experience for myself and my family.  My son fell in love with Barcelona and I fell in love with smaller towns.  We had a positive experience.  I was very worried about pick pockets but everything went great.  All the places felt safe.  I think every day about Spain and would love to go back in the future.  Next time, I would like to visit other cities including Seville.  Spain was very good to us and it was money well spent.  I will forever have Spain in my heart.

  I'm a Spaniard living in the US.  Today I had a Publix sandwich for lunch.  Dang, I miss Spain!

  Fantastic video. <br>But one thing: flamenco music doesn&apos;t fit in a video about Barcelona. <br>That music is native to southern Spain. <br>It&apos;s like putting country music in a video about New York or Scottish bagpipes in a video about London.

  One of the most beautiful and respectful videos about our capital I&apos;ve ever seen. The quality of the images equal your insightful words. You are right about tourism, because we are suffering its massive impact the same as other cities in Europe and finding balance is not easy.

  Barcelona has been a creative city forever and I hope they&apos;ll find a way to balance tourism and local life better than other cities. They made great use of the Olympics by improving public transport, they came up with Macba, the museum that subsequently turned into the heart of the European skateboarding scene, then they banned bull fights in the early 2000s and instead became the world&apos;s most popular football club, they invented the Superblock concept to limit through traffic in residential quarters... just some random things that come to mind, &nbsp;but if any new approaches emerge, it will probably be there! Banning AirBnB is a good start but rents are still rising way faster than wages and it&apos;s putting pressure on the locals, that&apos;s the main problem it seems.
