  his dad was late stage kidney failure and couldnt find a kidney , James and his dad were both soldiers .James wrote this song to say goodbye to his dad and when it was released a distant relative in Australia saw it and donated a kidney . while they were filming this everyone was crying except his dad who asked why everyone was crying

  They both served in the British Army.  When James was deployed to Kosovo, this is what his father said, “We’re just two grown men saying goodbye.”

  This will break anyone down with a soul.  He made this video before his dad found a donor to save his life.  Apparently an interview James did led to finding a donor.  Beautiful story

  I&apos;ve watched a lot of reaction videos to this song, and you were the first to point out that he speaking to his father both as an adult and a child.<br><br>It&apos;s like no matter how much you grow up, a father figure is inextricably linked to your childhood and those feelings.

  The power of music isn’t talked about enough. James dad was dying. But this song. Made people test for donars. They found a long lost cousin, come forward and donate. &nbsp;Miracle. Truly an under told story.
