I met Dr. Otis Williams, the last remaining original member of The Temptations, in Atlanta in 2020, it was truly an honor, a very nice gentleman...🙂

This video is a celebration of resilience, history, and soul — honoring 25 of the oldest living Black musicians who continue to inspire the world with their legacy. In an era obsessed with what’s new, this tribute reminds us where the music truly began — with pioneers who built entire genres from pain, joy, and genius. Seeing these icons still alive today feels like witnessing living history, a bridge between generations that shaped the heartbeat of blues, jazz, soul, and R&B.

What makes this video so moving is its tone — it’s not about nostalgia, but reverence. Each artist represents a story of survival in an industry that often forgot its own heroes. Their lives are proof that talent endures long after the spotlight fades, that rhythm and resilience go hand in hand. From gospel legends to Motown trailblazers, every face shown is a reminder of how deep the roots of Black music truly run.

Watching this, you can’t help but feel gratitude and awe. These musicians aren’t just alive — they’re living testaments to cultural power, artistic freedom, and the unbreakable spirit that turned struggle into song. Their stories are not just history — they’re heritage.

Do you think Smokey Robinson’s greatest legacy comes from his own performances, or from the timeless hits he wrote for other Motown artists?
