  To give you the full context: AVGN started well before Joueur du Grenier. Fred has always said that he was heavily inspired by AVGN for his concept, and you can really see it in the early videos — reviewing a game, getting angry, shouting bizarre insults, and finishing by destroying the game.<br><br>However, Fred eventually developed his own unique style, very different from AVGN, especially with more elaborate skits, scenes, and a ZAZ/slapstick kind of humor. Meanwhile, AVGN has stuck to his original formula with only minor changes.<br><br>There are references to AVGN in JDG’s videos — for example, the alien character Alpha V from GelgaNesh has initials that clearly reference AVGN. There are others too, but I’ll let you discover them on your own.<br><br>Oh, and AVGN is still making videos today. That “Dragon’s Lair Revisited” video YouTube recommended at the end? That’s his most recent one (he did a first take years ago but didn’t really dig into the game back then).

  The fact that you discover AVGN after JDG is pure gold. By the way, alien Alpha V Gel-Ganek in JDG is a reference to AVGN.

  You should react more to him. The Amiga CD32, Indiana Jones Trilogy, and Big Rigs episode are a few gems you will enjoy!

  He&apos;s a genius. My favourite AVGN video is Doom.<br>He obviously inspired JDG. JDG starded in 2009 and AVGN about 2005 even if in his first videos it was only gameplays with voice over (Castlevania)

  The Nerd has over 200 episodes and is still going, the most recent one is Time Cop for the SNES.

  Duke Nukem 3D is actually the 3rd game in the franchise. The first two were sidescrollers for the PC.
