I remember when these types of documentaries where the norm on cable Tv (early 2000s- nineties kid here). I think I grew up with a feeling of awe and wonder towards the world thanks in no small part to masterpieces like these! Now it takes a lot of effort to prompt search engines correctly to arrive at these videos; but at least they are here! My niece and nephew are loving them , thx so much

Roman Britain lasted longer than the US has existed as a nation.

That’s not a trivial period of time.

This is just the sort of video that YT should be about. Informative. Well presented. Understandable and relatable. Reasoned. Fascinating and accessible to us lesser mortals. Thank you Francis, and thank you The British History Channel.

Living in Kentucky I was always intrigued by British history. One day it struck me that that was also my history. My ancestors.

The pleasure of hearing the word 'revert' used correctly! I could watch this video again based solely on that reason.
Not mentioned here is Llanilltyd Fawr (Llantwit Major) and the question of it was a seat of learning/proto-university for scholars within the church during this period, sending out evangalists trained by St Illtyd et al. I've got a feeling St Gildas is linked too.
