  Story 2: I worked in a kindergarten and already back then (25 years ago) there was a focus set to teach parents not to give a child a choice if they were expecting a certain answer. "Do you want to go back home?" was a big no-no if they weren't ready for the child to say no and then allowing them to play for a while longer.

  Story 3: The excuse of &quot;I can&apos;t go <i>__</i> without sex&quot; is so old. In most marriages, one of you will have a lower drive than the other (my hubs). You have a conversation and reach a compromise that works for both of you, without anyone feeling pressured or guilted into it.

  First story: I didn’t see anywhere showing that OP told her ex that she cheated on him during the marriage. Can tell you that had she told him, he wouldn’t have felt as much guilt in not wanting to get back with her. OP has NOT learned and is still being dishonest and selfish.

  First story: my ex husband did all of this to me, but I never found out he was cheating until we&apos;d been apart for years. &nbsp;Everyone else around us knew, no one told me. Three decades later, I&apos;m totally ok lol

  I have two parents that act the exact same way as the father in the 2nd story<br><br>Bad past with own parents, and think being present is all that matters. When if I ‘slight’ them in anyway they pop off because I’m being ungrateful and hate them<br><br>It gets really exhausting when you have family that does that to you, especially for what I’m sure is that daughter’s whole life. It’s really unfortunate when parents just can’t look outside of themselves and their hurt
