I have to 100% disagree. I'm retired for 3yrs. My days are so full, I have no idea how I even found time to work. Start taking care of yourself and life will be better. I go to the gym, swim, steamroom, hot tub, sauna, dog park, socialize.... A job doesn't define a person. Ppl have to learn to get a life.

Better to have a bad day at the grocery line than a good day at work.

It was worse me. I had to take a forced medical retirement in 2018. I woke up one day and asked "Is this it". I'm just waiting around to die"? At the time I was on Dialysis and needed a transplant. About a year later the miracle happened and I was eventually able to get back to work. I'm now prepared for my real retirement coming by in 4 more years.

5 yrs away from retirement, I doubt I will ever have this identity issue. Ive separated myself from work and it is NOT an integral part of my identity. Once im out, IM OUT!

I too have been retired for 3 years and I am loving all of it. Initially it gave me time for appointments that I was always made to feel guilty about, but more than anything it allows ME to control my schedule.
So yard work and gardening, caring for the wildlife, attending to my long to do list, exercising, learning, and so much more! I just turned 60 last week and I can’t count how blessed I am and how good I feel to be at this stage. Thank you Lord 🙏🏽🕊️

Nobody believed me when i told them i was done at 55. The week before I turned 55 i retired. It was always the plan. Nice home great wife everything is paid for. SS at 62. I call it play money. Now at 67 so far so good. Nobody ever gave me a dime. I do whatever i want each day. A couple of health issues but ive got a long time yet. Get out early. Especially if you had a physicality demanding job. Have fun.

I retired in 2022. There is so much less stress. There is no aimlessness. The feeling of freedom and having to answer to NO one is sublime. It feels better as time goes by. It is all I hoped for during my working years.
Easily the best time of my life!

This is my Motto - "Work to Live, not Live to Work." When I retire, I'll just have more time to do what I was already doing, LIVING!!! 😊😉
