<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hRbch73fSY&t=223">3:43</a> - I'm weird, but I loved the sound of hanging out on all those dog-ear notes. I always lived by that rule that if you hit a wrong note, just keep playing it, and now I often gravitate to the "wrong" notes instead.

Jazz improvisers talk about chord tones on the strong beats. That means beats 1 and 3. There are chromatic enclosures, but also diatonic ones. I like a half step below and a whole step above.
