In 1941, nothing was sold in plastic bottles (as the video claims in the first 2 minutes). Drinks being sold in plastic bottles didn't occur until the 1970s.

No plastic soda bottles in common use until the late 1970’s. Makes me wonder how true the rest of your lesser known garden hacks are.

I'm almost 60 years old now and we used plastic bottles like milk jugs and 2 liter soda bottles to cover our plants to protect them from frost and to keep the deer away from the plants. An we'd have a thin rope up between trees with food cans and soda cans with few rocks in them then when the deer tried to get in our garden they'd get on the trip line and get scared when the rocks made noise inside the metal cans. Most of the time I used fishing line to hang cans from because deer couldn't see it.

You need to look up the old trick of using copper wire near the plants to catch the electric in the air that helped plants grow bigger and make two or three times more veggies. One plant can make 30 to 50 lbs like a tomato plant but a plant without the copper wire only makes 15 to 20 lbs. Copper wire works great for plants. You can even bury a dead piece of wood wrapped with copper wire and it will help the roots grow better and the plants grow bigger and makes more veggies than not having a 6 inch piece of dead branch buried in the dirt wrapped with copper wire. Look it up.
