  I&apos;m Canadian and just spent 3 weeks there in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xi&apos;an and Shanghai and it was one of the best trips of my life. Just surreal.

  My wife and I seriously talk about move back China after we retired. We move to Canada 30 years ago for better life. However now it seems China is where better life is.

  I’m American born and raised. My wife is Chinese. Visited China in 2002. I felt out of place. Visited again 21 years later in 2023. In the past 2 1/2 years I’ve gone 4 times each trip being about 6-8 weeks and loving it more and more. Have another trip planned for this summer. We even discuss potentially moving there one day. <br><br>People are so friendly. Cities are so safe and clean. Things just work more efficiently than the US. I don’t speak the language so that sucks for me, but with translation I can still manage.

  31 years out of China and I never forgot my homeland. I remind people that I am not “Asian” but Chinese. Asian is an American identity created by a Japanese and Chinese American social activist in the 1960s for political representation. Nobody in the orient believes in an Asian identity, that’s not a concept.

  I aam 72 years old a second generations oversea Chinese living in Malaysia. First language is English, follow by Hokkien dialect, Contonese and Malay. Understand Hakka and Tochiew dialects. Because of strong Chinese culture and Chinese schools we are always updated about China. We look out for Chinese news. Watch Hong Kong Contonese drama or historical movie in Mandarin. We feel connected to China. We were concerned the progress of China. My mum and relatives returned to &nbsp;China when our government allowed them to visit their home village in the early 80s. They brought back gifts and money their relatives. In returned we got to eat some tranditional dried foods. I was able to visit China in 2006 and &nbsp;felt at home though I cant speak Mandarin. As we aged, the gravitation to mother land became very strong. At times I felt like wanting to live my last part of my life in China. Unfortunately many older generation were unable to returned after making a fortune in our adopted country.
